Privacy and safety are foundational to how Matrimony.fr is built — and they're also, ultimately, a shared responsibility between the platform and every family using it. Here's both sides.
How we protect your contact information
Your phone number and WhatsApp are never shown in search results, never included in a profile's public page source, and never exposed through any public listing. They only become visible to a specific person when an administrator grants access, or — where enabled — when that person chooses to unlock your profile using Matrimony Points. Every reveal is logged, and access can be time-limited or revoked by an administrator at any time.
What we don't do
We do not run background checks, criminal checks, or identity verification on members. This is stated clearly in our Terms — it is not something any matrimonial platform can substitute for your own family's judgment.
Your family's safety checklist
- Verify independently. Confirm identity, education, occupation, and family background through your own trusted channels before proceeding seriously.
- Never send money. No genuine prospective partner will ever ask for money, gift cards, or financial details — treat any such request as a serious red flag, regardless of the reason given.
- Be cautious of urgency. Pressure to decide quickly, send money urgently, or avoid a video call are classic signs of a scam.
- Meet safely. If you choose to meet in person, do so in a public place, and let a family member know your plans.
- Report concerns. Use the report option on any profile that seems fake, inappropriate, or suspicious — every report is reviewed by our team.
Privacy is a two-way street
Just as we protect your information, please respect other members' privacy — never attempt to scrape, screenshot, or redistribute another member's private details.
