Law Enforcement Requests
Version: October 5, 2026 (2026-10-05)
1. Who this page is for
This page is intended only for police, judicial authorities and other legally competent public authorities. Members and the public must not use this channel: questions about your account, matrimonial enquiries, payments, complaints and requests about your own personal data go through Contact, and your data-protection rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach
Matrimony.fr respects the privacy of its members. We disclose member data to an authority only when we are legally required to do so, after reviewing each request, and only the data that the request legally requires. A request does not by itself oblige us to disclose anything.
3. How to send a request
Send the request in writing to contact@matrimony.fr, from an official address, with "Law enforcement request" in the subject line. Official postal correspondence: SELVARATNAM Kandeepan, A25 - 4 Rue Gisèle Halimi , 95140 Garges-lès-Gonesse , France. The request should:
- come from an authorised, competent authority;
- identify the requesting authority and the officer in charge (name, rank or function, unit);
- give official contact details for replies and verification;
- identify the account, profile or user concerned as precisely as possible (for example the profile link or number, or the email address or phone number linked to the account);
- describe clearly the information requested;
- state the legal basis — warrant, court order, judicial requisition or statutory authority — where required, with the document attached;
- be limited in scope and in time period to what the investigation needs.
Authorities outside France may need to use the applicable international cooperation procedures (for example a European Investigation Order or a mutual legal assistance request).
4. How we review requests
We may verify the identity and authority of the requester, and ask for clarification or for additional legal documentation before answering. A request that is unclear, overly broad or not legally valid may be refused or narrowed.
5. Data availability and retention
Matrimony.fr does not guarantee that the requested data exists or is still retained. Retention is governed by our Privacy Policy, by our legal obligations and by legitimate security and accounting requirements.
6. Emergency requests
Requests involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm may be reviewed urgently. Write "EMERGENCY" in the subject line and clearly state:
- the nature of the emergency;
- the person at risk;
- why immediate disclosure is necessary;
- the information requested;
- official callback and contact details.
Labelling a request as an emergency does not by itself lead to disclosure: each request is assessed on its own facts, and we may verify the requester before answering.
7. Data preservation requests
Where permitted by applicable law, an authorised authority may ask us to preserve specified account data pending valid legal process. The request should identify the account and the data concerned as precisely as possible. Preservation is limited in time and does not mean that the data will be disclosed; disclosure still requires valid legal process.
8. Related policies
What is not allowed on the Platform is described in our Acceptable Use Policy; how we handle personal data, including disclosures required by law, in our Privacy Policy.
