Legal Notice
2. Scope
These Terms of Sale govern the purchase of Matrimony Points and their use on the Platform by consumers. Use of the Platform itself is governed by our Terms of Use; personal data by our Privacy Policy. The version of these Terms of Sale that you accept when ordering is recorded with your order and continues to apply to that order.
3. Matrimonial contract and seven-day period
Access to member contact details and the purchase of points are reserved for members who have signed a matrimonial contract on the Platform (French Consumer Code, art. L224-90 et seq.). Contact access — including with points offered by Matrimony.fr (referral or administration) — opens at signature. Buying points with money opens only once the special seven-day period after signature has ended: during that period no payment or deposit is taken. Once the contract has ended (renunciation, withdrawal, termination or expiry), no new contact access or purchase is possible until a new contract is signed. The exact dates of your contract are shown in its signature certificate.
4. What Matrimony Points are
Matrimony Points are internal credits of the Platform, linked to your account. They are not money or electronic money, have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn to a bank account, exchanged for cash or transferred to another member or account. At present they are used to unlock the contact details of a specific profile (see below). Points may also be offered free of charge by Matrimony.fr (referral points, points offered by the administration, promotion bonuses); these gift points have no cash refund value. When you spend points, gift points are used first.
5. Prices and conversion rate
Current conversion: 1 EUR = 6 points. Unlocking one profile's contact details currently costs 30 points. A single order is between 10 and 100 EUR, in whole euros. These values are set by the operator and may change; the rate, points, bonus and price of your order are recorded when you order and are never changed afterwards. The amount shown on the order summary is the total amount you pay.
6. How an order is placed
(1) In your wallet, choose an amount. (2) An order summary shows the points, the rate, any bonus and the total price. (3) You accept these Terms of Sale and tick two separate, never pre-ticked boxes: (A) your express request for immediate performance of the paid service and (B) your acknowledgement of the legal consequence that may apply to your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed (see "Right of withdrawal"). (4) You confirm with the button that states your obligation to pay and are sent to Stripe's secure payment page. (5) The order is final only when Stripe confirms the payment to our server.
7. Payment
Payment is by card on the secure page of Stripe, an independent payment provider. We never receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code. A payment that is refused, abandoned, cancelled or expired gives no points and is not charged by us.
8. Crediting of points
Points are credited automatically once Stripe has confirmed the payment to our server — usually within moments. Returning to our site after paying does not by itself credit points; the page may show "verification in progress" until the confirmation arrives. You receive a receipt by email. If points have not appeared within a reasonable time, contact us with your order reference (MFR-…).
9. Using points: Contact Unlock
Unlocking a profile costs 30 points (price shown and confirmed before any deduction). It reveals the phone and/or WhatsApp number that member chose to provide. An unlock is for one specific profile and stays available to your account — viewing it again costs nothing. No points are deducted for your own profile, for a profile without contact details, for a blocked profile, or when an administrator has already given you Contact Access (a separate, free permission). Members may later change or remove their details or their profile, and no one is obliged to reply; an unlock does not guarantee any contact or outcome.
10. Promotions and referrals
When a promotion or referral programme is running, its conditions (bonus, eligibility, validity) are shown before you order or on your wallet page, and the terms applied are recorded with the transaction. Bonus and referral points are Matrimony Points like any other and have no cash value.
11. Right of withdrawal
For distance contracts, consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw (French Consumer Code, art. L221-18). This right is separate from the seven-day period of the matrimonial contract. Because points are credited as soon as the payment is confirmed, the order summary asks you, before every purchase and in two separate boxes, (A) whether you expressly request immediate performance of the paid service and (B) whether you have taken note of the legal consequence that may apply to your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed — in particular that the right may no longer be exercisable (art. L221-28) and that, if you withdraw after performance has begun, an amount proportionate to what has been provided may be due (art. L221-25). Without both boxes, no payment is started. Your choices are recorded with the order and confirmed in your receipt email. You can send a withdrawal request from your contract page or with any unambiguous statement; it is handled by our team.
12. Refunds and payment errors
Buy only the number of Matrimony Points you need. Points that have been used are not refundable. Points offered by Matrimony.fr, including referral points and points offered by the administration, have no cash refund value. Any mandatory legal rights that apply remain reserved. Where a refund is due (for example if you were charged in error, twice for the same order, or where the law requires it), it can only concern the money you actually paid for the purchase concerned — never gift points — and it is handled by our team with Stripe.
13. Legal guarantees
As a consumer you benefit from the legal guarantees of conformity provided by the French Consumer Code for digital content and digital services. To use them, contact us as described under "Complaints".
14. Complaints
For any complaint, write to us first — with your account email and, for a purchase, your order reference (MFR-…). We will look into it and reply. contact@matrimony.fr · Contact
15. Consumer mediation
After first contacting Matrimony.fr in writing and attempting to resolve the dispute directly, a consumer may, if the dispute is eligible, refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator designated by Matrimony.fr:
Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de justice (CM2C)
49 rue de Ponthieu
75008 Paris
France
Call Us: 01 89 47 00 14
https://www.cm2c.net/
Mediation is free for the consumer. The mediator is independent: it is not part of Matrimony.fr and Matrimony.fr does not control its decisions. The request must be made within one year of your written complaint to us.
16. Personal data
Order and payment data are processed to perform your order and to meet accounting obligations; Stripe processes the card payment. Details: Privacy Policy
17. Applicable law
These Terms of Sale are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence where applicable. Nothing in them limits your statutory consumer rights.
